MORE THAN 2,000 HOT MEALS SERVED AS PART OF 16TH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER COMMUNITY EVENT

Mayor Aja Brown is scheduled to collaborate with rapper, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Percy {Robert} Miller on a Thanksgiving community event to serve hot meals to over 2,000 needy families in the City of Compton on November 26, 2014.

Better known by his stage name, ‘Master P’, this free event is a part of the 16th annual Thanksgiving Dinner Community event that has been in existence for over 15 years in cities across the nation including Watts and his hometown of Baton Rouge, LA. With the support of Mayor Brown, Percy Miller will be hosting this long time event for the first time in the City of Compton.

“Thanksgiving is more than just shopping and eating…” states Mayor Aja Brown. “It is a time for us to reflect and provide a positive impact in our communities by expressing our gratitude through our selfless acts of helping those that are in need.”

Actor David Arquette, actress/model, Ariel Kebbel, and television/film producer, Penny Marshall have confirmed their attendance along with City officials and local and national philanthropists to serve hot meals donated from Honey Baked Ham Company.  Seniors and families in need are welcome to attend on Wednesday, November 26th beginning at 2pm at the Douglas F. Dollarhide Community Center located at 301 N. Tamarind Ave; Compton, CA 90220.
